David Philip Hefti

David Philip Hefti, winner of the prestigious George Enescu Competition and prize-winner of the Witold Lutoslawski Competition, studied composition, conducting, clarinet and chamber music with Wolfgang Rihm, Cristóbal Halffter, Wolfgang Meyer, Rudolf Kelterborn and Elmar Schmid in Winterthur, Zurich and Carlsruhe. He has appeared at the festivals 'Musica de Hoy' in Madrid, Pablo Casals in Prades, EuroArt in Prague, 'Beijing Modern', Suntory in Tokyo and as the 'artist in residence' at the International Music Biennale in São Paulo. He has worked with soloists such as Fabio Di Càsola, Thomas Grossenbacher, Thomas Indermühle, Wolfgang Meyer, Sylvia Nopper, Primoz Novsak, Oliver Schnyder, Stefan Tönz and with conductors such as David Zinman, Ralf Weikert, Jac van Steen, Michael Sanderling, Cristóbal Halffter and Howard Griffiths. Hefti's work has brought him together with orchestras such as the Tokyo Sinfonietta, the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of São Paulo, the Ensemble Calliopée in Paris, the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Collegium Novum Zurich.
